For years now military games have been taking over the gaming industry.  Modern Warfare, BattleField and Black Ops are the top three most played and anticipated video games each year. These game provide first person classic shooter games for online and offline play. Black Ops 2 has just released and his topping charts and backing up delivery times.

 

I haven’t been playing these first person shooter for long but I fell in love with them ever since Modern Warfare 2 came along. Black Ops 2 has  taken a similar approach graphically with the last version.  The graphics are more animated and arcade like, unlike Modern Warfare or Battle field which are more detail oriented and a bit slower paced.  With these high res low detail graphics the game images and play move faster almost blurring what is happening around you while playing in campaign mode.

 

Campaign mode is set in 2025. The idea of it is the second future cold war fighting against and evil leader Raul Menendez . In the campaign mode it is similar to the last black ops in that it’s kill the person shooting at you and move forward throughout the level. Not to complicated or different. A new feature is going back to play a level after you have passed  it. Why? Because they have designed the campaign to unlock new weapons for each level.  Once unlocked you can go back and play that same level with that new gun and see how well you do once you have a better weapon.

 

The weapons, tactical, lethal, and scorestreaks equipment have new better responsive capabilities. They made so that the weapons actually impact the way they are supposed to. So take the MLAW for instance. It no longer takes you 5 seconds to fire the weapon for minimal damage.  Bullets will and do fly through several layers of walls and will kill you as well without any special perks on so don’t think your safe. Tactical equipment is mostly the same just changed looks. Some of the equipment is new and is more futuristic like the like the shock grenade which delivers a shock and stun if you get near it. Some of the items from MW3 are taken and introduced into this game as well. ScoreStreaks are pretty cool this year. The focus was mainly on unmanned vehicles. They have the Dragonfire, Hunter killer and the imfamous RC-XD is back.  The RC car doesn’t have a timer which is nice and it is also quiet so its hard to hear. The century gun is nice this year with better people sensory.  The Sentry gun and other equipment can no longer be knifed to be destroyed.

 

The set up for the game on the main screen takes a little getting used to. It has many different things to do like create a class, barracks, ect.. This stuff hasn’t changed but the layout is bit tricky to understand when you first see it. Everything is more on a grid, giving it that more “futuristic look.” They have brought back the create your own emblem ( kind of funny) so that can be a good time waster for you. Overall Black Ops 2 not bad I would give it a 4.4 out of 5. The maps are all different and have their own good and bad qualities. (Nuketown)

 

There are some good things and bad things about Black Ops 2. I personally would definitely recommend this to anyone. Its fun entertaining and will keep you busy for hours. Black Ops 2 has been released and has been very popular so far. As people begin to play and get used to the new graphics, maps, scenery and weapons it will just as competitive as the previous games. Black Ops 2 is more of a fun; I’ll just try again, kind of game that doesn’t take a whole lot of skill to play. It is fun none the less , and if you like shooting games then I would buy this and play. Don’t forget about those creepy, killer zombies!!!
