Electricity runs Cars and Mobile devices

In the world of cars technology has a great impact. The new trend is electric cars. GreenTech , a new  automotive company, has launched its first car as of July 6, 2012. It is an electric 2 seated car,  funded by bill Clinton and he is now considered an advisor for this new company.  Electricity is a great energy source which has unlimited power. People are starting utilize it for much more than phone and mobile  hand held devices.

Technology is growing very fast , and like mobile apps its making life easier. For instance with cars Viper makes an iPhone app that will let you remotely start your car from your phone. There have been keyless starts before but not from a phone. This app also is able to control other devices in the car such as the heating and air conditioning, trunk, horn and even the alarm.  It will allow you to start and do almost everything but drive your car from almost anywhere.

Electricity is the power source behind  the new MyCar automobile. “This car is expected to create thousands of new jobs,” says David Herron of Torque News. The company originated in China where America had part ownership and then America fully took over and now the company is an American based company.  There are very good things about having a MyCar, a completely electric car. The car itself will be quieter. My Car will also be more economically and environmentally friendly. Economically you will save money on gas, and environmentally the car produces no emissions, which helps with greenhouse gasses. There is a downside to electric cars such as the MyCar produced by GreenTech.

Electric cars will not require fuel and will not hurt environment, but they will make it a pain to get around. The MyCar is “2 seated,” it resembles one of those cars you got as a child that ran off of a pack of 9 volt batteries.  For a car this size to last any length of time it would require a battery that would make the price range more than double what it currently is and marks it as a luxury car. At its current state the battery will only allow you to travel 115 miles at 25 mph, basically getting you nowhere!  You also have to charge your battery once you run out of juice and that will take anywhere from 3-12 hours and you have to find a spot to plug in.

Imagine going on a 500 mile road trip to the beach in a nice new electric car:

  1. It would take you about 80 or more hrs. of actually driving to make this trip (4 + days)
  2. There is no room for your luggage
  3. Find places to charge(12hrs) the vehicle and sleep
  4. A regular trip at an average of 65 mph would take about 7 hours.
If your a big city dweller and you use your car than this would be a an ideal purchase for you and it would greatly lower toxins and costs driving around the city. If you are not a city dweller, than this car would not be the ideal car for you. One day there will be an electric car for all purposes, but until then I would wait
