How Google Now is Better than Siri

Siri is an Apple iPhone software that allows you to have your own personal assistant. The Siri is capable of setting up appointments, giving reminders, sending emails and texts etc… Siri for iPhone 4s also is capable of letting you search, but is not its primary function. When Apple purchased Siri, people assumed that it was to rival google in the search capabilities. Well, you know what happens when you assume. Google Now is an Android software that combines all of the above and does it at a more efficient and faster speed than iPhone Siri does.

Apple’s iPhone Siri relies on another system to search which in return makes it a slow search tool. Google Now runs on Android’s Jelly Bean. Jelly bean is the latest Android OS that is faster than any of its predecessors. Google Now is powered by Jelly Bean and is centered around its search and its voice- powered digital assistant; but more so on the search capabilities. The voice capabilities are remarkably fast and precise. Google Now is available on Android’s, Nexus 7 and other mobile devices that run with Jelly Bean. It will incorporate the existing apps installed on the devices.

Google Now app for Android will be a great way to search for information. It will be a lot faster than Siri and it will give you better results. It also learns as you go. So say you like to follow your favorite sports teams. Google Now will remember that you like those teams and provide you with updates everyday. Google Now knows your likes and anticipates what you will want next. You can say anything into the Android smartphone or Android mobile device that has Jelly Bean and it will come up with the answer within seconds. This will make life a lot easier when going about your regular day.

Another great feature is the reminders. If you have a bus to catch Google Now will let you know when the bus is arriving, when it is leaving, when you should leave to make it on time and Google Now figures traffic details into all of that. There will be no more excuses for being late.

Apple’s iPhone does have an advantage because Android’s Google Now will not be available until Jelly Bean is available, which is said to release in mid July. So while we are all waiting for Google Now and Android Jelly Bean everyone will be using the iPhone Siri which works with almost all built in apps that the iPhone offers. With Android, it takes them awhile to update the new versions and the latest version, Ice Cream Sandwich is barely being used. Most people are still on older version, like Gingerbread. So it could be even longer for you to get Google Now depending on when the updates are made.
