When Apple released it iPhone 5 with the iOS6 update it came with a new map app that was supposed to be pretty cool. As everyone has come to find out the map app was a complete flop.

 

Apple’s map app has had multiple problems and for the last couple months there has been recommendation not to use it. Apple has been searching for a solution to fix there inadequate app. They have offered other apps on the iPhone but none have done the trick. People are being warned in certain areas and not to follow directly the iPhones map.

 

iPhone’s previous versions all used Google maps, but they wanted to be on their own and create an independent app. There was no way they could create a map app that could compete with Google’s in such a short period of time. Before smartphones became popular Google had Google Maps on the internet for people to use. It originally competed with MapQuest, but now Google has surpassed MapQuest.

 

Apple announced that Google Map App has returned and is available to download on the iPhone 5.  They have added smoother features like voice dictation to say the destination or say the address you would like to go to. It has a much cleaner look to it as well. Iphone customers are already very happy with the return of the app.
